Should you keep a dieting diary?

I think this is a good idea. The time you spend trying to shed weight is probably a life changing experience. You will know pain and failure. You will know despair and hope. You will experience pains and aches in places you never thought could feel pain and aches. You will become obsessive looking at every single calorie in your meal and hopefully you will lose weight.
Keeping a diary enables you to keep track of all this experience and might actually be useful in posterity. The diary will set out in black and white what you have achieved and you can go back and review it to see whether you are meeting the slimming targets you set yourself. A diary is a record of your achievements and your failures.
I am now writing from a self-interest perspective. It is very important that the people share their experiences of dieting because it proves everyone else with a platform to review where they may have gone wrong. This is a case where to share is to gain. A blog such as the one we are operating would never see the light of day if people did not come forward to share their experiences.
Every time I make a post I always appeal to people to come in and make comments. It does not matter if I agree with the comments or not as long as you are communicating. In fact you can even communicate one to one through the use of repeat posts and responses. I would very much like to be able to respond to all your posts.
So if you are thinking of starting a dieting diary by all means do so and I will be there to encourage you all the way. This forum is a good starting point for you to share your ideas. You can use it as a starting point to get yourself noticed and to get other people to engage in your experiences.
If you are lacking motivation in any way once again you can rely on the support of the community online to give you tips and to encourage you to follow your dreams as well as continuing with your current dieting activities. I look forward to hearing from you and will be checking the blog from time to time to see how well you are doing or if there are any comments.

Online Diet Plan Introduction

Hi guys. Just starting the blog now on the online diet plan. I envy those guys who are able to stay with the online diets. If you find it difficult to stay on them off line then there will be problems online. LOL. Anyway here we go and I hope everyone will participate and contribute to the blog as we built it over time. I am particularly interested in those of you who have been on the diet both on and off line. It would be interesting to see how you have coped.

I just read about one that promises that you lose 10lbs in five weeks. Needless to say I am rather skeptical. Has anyone every succeeded with these week to week diets that are put online? They must be doing something right as people keep coming back. On a serious basis, I think that these kinds of diet can work if you choose the ones that suit you best. I have seen a site at http://www.sparkpeople.com/ which I am going to review today. It is an online community that allows potential dieters to visit and enter their vital statistics. They can also enter their own targets for dieting and then they are introduced to a calorie counter which enables them to work out where they are on the diet.
You have to register and they say that it is for free but in my experience nothing is ever for free. They do capture some of your basic data such as name, address and email. Maybe this provides them with a customer base and you would be contacted from time to time with offers related to online dieting. Ah well, I have seen it now! They have an option to enter your preference for dieting publications. So really although you are online the dieting is being done through magazines.
I was a bit disappointed that they did not a lot of actual text on the site and useful information for people who are dieting but you can try it for yourself to see how it works for you. Please let know whatever your experiences are. You might also re-direct us to some good sites and invite your friends to join the site or contribute. Those of you who have articles can always email me to see whether they can be considered for the blog. Take care and good luck with the dieting.
