Making the Transition from One Diet to Another
When people are trying to establish the kind of diet which is going to work for them, they will have to move from diet to diet in an effort to find out how they react to each one. Sometimes they are also distracted by friends who come up with new diets every few seconds with the intention of recruiting you to their own plan. Unless you are a very strong person, the temptation will be to jump from one diet to another without clearly thinking about where you came from and where you are going. If you do this kind of thing then you will not give the diets the time and space to work but instead will be causing your body stress because it is trying to identify which of the various feeding patterns it should stick to.
When you are moving from one diet to another, it should be a matter of prior planning. You will be aware of the need to experiment with diets and therefore you will take steps to ensure that your programs can go according to plan. This avoids the uncertainty of haphazard programs and also means that when implications start coming in, you are fully conversant with the deal and will not make too much hassle. It is also good practice to be organized in whatever you are doing. A dieting schedule that is well planned around your typical activities has a much better chance of success than one which is just hastily built up to deal with a mini crisis in your confidence. That diet will only be masking the problems that you have so that you do not get too involved in improving your own life. This is the easy way out and if I was being unkind I would refer to it as being a cowardly way out.
I think that people need to give diets the chance to work. If you have a scheduled diet that is supposed to last two weeks then you need to ensure that for those two weeks you do everything possible to fulfill any tasks that have been requested of you as part of the diet. If things are not working out then you can have the option of looking elsewhere but do not look elsewhere as you are working on the diet because this can have an impact on the effectiveness of your routines on the diet.
