Get Rid of the Junk Food and Get Rid of the Weight
Junk food is one of the greatest causes of ill health and overweight status among the developed countries. For example the problems have reached almost endemic levels in the United States of America. What is particularly disappointing is the fact that the people who normally feast on junk food are some of the poorest within the community. They are the same people who cannot afford proper medical attention when the results of their consumption cause them health problems. The junk food industry bears some responsibility for increasing the obesity levels within that part of the world. They are now trying to export the same principles to poorer countries in the hope that they can expand their markets.
Some people find junk food irresistible because it appears to be convenient. Little preparation is required before the family can consume the meal. If the head of the family is a busy single parent, they will have no hesitation in making junk food the staple food for the whole family. Meanwhile the devastating effects of the junk food system continue to ravage the country without so much as a stopping hand. Some suspicious people even believe that junk food is deliberately infected with chemicals that make it irresistible to the average young person. The young market will prove to be a valuable source of revenue for the junk industry because they have somehow management to give junk food a glamorous image despite the evidence to the contrary.
Many people who take junk food fail to consider the fact that this type of meal has very limited nutritional value and therefore the person is growing fat while starving themselves of vital nutrients. Some of the companies have gone on the charm offensive by adding a little bit of salad to the junk food in an effort to make it appear respectable. Of course this is nonsense because they are not targeting the real fattening grease within the junk food. The failure of governments to deal with this problem has to rank as one of the modern examples of incompetent administration or even maladministration. The junk food industry is sitting on eye watering profits yet it is doing absolutely nothing to improve the lives of the people who are gorging themselves on this kind of food. The social responsibility of the junk food industry is never in question because it is simply not a priority for them as to whether the general health of the community is maintained.
